THE SOCIAL IMPACT OF ETHICAL HOTEL

SROI analysis of the work inclusion model in Asti, Rome and Pistoia

 

Albergo Etico has started a collaboration with the ARCO research center to carry out the SROI (Social Return On Investment) analysis, in order to understand, measure and communicate the social value created by the model of work inclusion of children with disabilities experienced at interior of Albergo Etico Asti, recently replicated in Rome and soon Pistoia.

The SROI index describes the social and economic impact of the activities of Albergo Etico in Italy on its beneficiaries and stakeholders.

 

In 2018 Albergo Etico – Asti generated a social return of 3.72 euros per 1 euro invested. The result obtained reveals a high return in terms of social value generated by the activities of Albergo Etico, which thanks to its model of work inclusion of people with disabilities produces positive changes on various actors.

YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

The boys and girls work in the restaurant and hotel, live and share spaces with their colleagues in the Independence Academy, gaining autonomy thanks to the Download Method. The hotel not only offers professional training, but also becomes a gym for life, allowing young people to replicate the skills acquired in the workplace in their private life.

COLLECTIVITY

The work placements of people with disabilities represent an added value for the whole community since through work and the path of autonomy, children become independent people, taxpayers and active citizens.

COLLECTIVITY

The families of the children who work in Albergo Etico feel relieved to see their child inserted into a professional path that increases their independence and experience a reduction in anxiety compared to ``After us``. Albergo Etico also allows parents to have more time available to dedicate themselves to themselves and other family members.

COOPERATIVE DOWNLOAD

The Cooperative generates added value for children and their families, but also for the whole city and for all the people who come into contact with this experience, contributing to the contamination effect with other entrepreneurial realities in the area and with other children with disabilities. , who see in their peers who work in Albergo Etico an example and an inspiration.

MEMBERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE COOPERATIVE

They acquire new skills and a new sensitivity to the issue of access to work for people with disabilities. Specifically, the members of Albergo Etico enjoy great satisfaction in witnessing the improvements of the kids, who reach previously unthinkable goals, and in seeing the success of the Ethical Hotel Model.

CUSTOMERS OF ETHICAL HOTEL

Customers come into contact with children with disabilities who, during their stay, carry out normal activities related to the hotel and catering sector. From this experience they come out enriched for having developed a new point of view on disability and also satisfied for having contributed to a project with a social purpose through their consumption choices.
