“Journey to the Ethical Hotel in Rome where (also) people with disabilities work” is the title of a report that the journalist Simona Berterame made for Fanpage at the Ethical Hotel in Rome.
In Rome, just a few steps from Piazzale Flaminio, there is an inclusive and welcoming hotel. It is called “Albergo Etico” and is not just a business project but a true social challenge: here, people with disabilities also work. Eighteen rooms spread over several floors within the walls of an old early 20th-century building, which until a few years ago housed the Institute of the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy.
Albergo Etico allows young people with various disabilities, including post-coma outcomes, Down syndrome, and Fragile X syndrome, to enter the workforce in a simple and stimulating way, also thanks to the supervision of the facility’s managers.
